I am the owner and Tour Director of Ottawa Walking Tours. I started the company in 2006 after spending many years working in Europe. While there, I found walking tours to be the best way to learn about a city, its people and its hidden gems. Upon returning home I decided to showcase Ottawa with all its amazing history, beautiful architecture, and breathtaking vistas. We have an incredible team of professional guides who would love to show you the best Ottawa has to offer. Book a tour today and get to know one of these fantastic people.

Originally from Edmonton, Alberta I moved to Ottawa to do a Master’s degree and never left! I love the history and architecture downtown, the museums and cultural institutions, and how easy it is to skip town and end up in Gatineau Park. I am passionate about Canadian political and cultural history and am currently working on a doctoral dissertation at McGill University on the music of the National Film Board of Canada. I’ve spent most of my life playing and studying music, so you can also find me playing drums in jazz ensembles around Ottawa. Hope you can join me at a local jazz club during your stay in Canada’s capital.

I was born in Ottawa; however, most of my family is from Switzerland and still live there. I am currently studying chemical engineering and computing technology at the University of Ottawa but also enjoy playing piano, rock climbing and trying new restaurants downtown. I love being a tour guide because I get to meet people from all around the world and learn a little about them and their homelands while teaching them about Ottawa and Canadian history.

I have worked as a guide for the past 4 years and love meeting people from across Canada and around the world. I adore travelling, biking, cooking, camping and the great outdoors! I will be happy to recommend places to eat and drink, especially my favourite pub in New Edinburgh, on your next guided tour of historic downtown Ottawa!

Born in Montreal, I lived in Bogota, Colombia for 23 years, and have lived in Ottawa since 2013. A librarian by training, I love how all the little bits of information about a place create a coherent whole, and I love sharing these facts and stories with people who are visiting. I love that Ottawa is a compact city in which you can see many places where many historic events unfolded. Having lived abroad, I am aware of the importance of presenting a balanced overview. I want visitors to come away with an understanding of things Canada does well, and others that we are still trying to improve.

I was born in the flatlands of Manitoba, raised in a small town on Lake Ontario, and schooled in Montreal and Toronto. I landed in Ottawa thirty years ago and love the city, its history and the history of Canada. I am an amateur musician (bass & guitar) and thrive on the vibrant music community in Ottawa. I also explore the nearby wilderness and enjoy hiking, canoeing and getting lost in the woods. I would love to introduce you to my Ottawa - its history, happenings, myths and stories.
